At the Department of English, we are dedicated to teaching and researching the English language and its literatures. We offer a stimulating learning environment, and a wide range of courses taught by highly qualified scholars, at the
undergraduate, master and doctoral levels.

At the Department, students, teachers and researchers from a number of different disciplines enjoy both personal and scholarly exchange. These individuals are our most important asset. Their curiosity, commitment, and diverse driving forces

The English Department at Uppsala University is located at The English Park Campus - Centre for the Humanities, alongside dozens of other university departments. This close proximity to researchers and students from other disciplines creates a dynamic and productive learning environment. Every term about 500 students enroll in our courses.
